Barnsley negotiating to offload Mido

Barnsley are talking to Mido’s agent in an attempt to offload the Egyptian in the near future but conceded that they could be forced to keep him until the summer of 2013.

The Championship club have all but benefited from their summer signing this term, with the 29-year-old playing no more than 27 minutes due to continuous injuries.

Manager Keith Hill recently implied that his recruit could be leaving Oakwell soon, while club officials are negotiating a deal with his agent.

“We’re getting a little bit nearer with a deal, but we’re still chatting to Mido’s agent,” revealed Reds director Don Rowing.

“Hopefully we’ll get something sorted in the New Year. These things take time.”
