Egypt and Basel winger Mohamed Salah has been named Africa’s Most Promising Talent of the Year 2012 by CAF.
The 20-year-old clinched the annual award at the expense of Senegal starlet Moussa Konate and Victor Wanyama of Kenya.
Salah has been increasingly impressive for Basel since joining from Arab Contractors last summer for a fee of around €2.2million.
He netted five goals in all competitions so far this season, while setting up eight for the Swiss champions.
The pacey winger has also become one of Egypt’s key assets under the manager of Bob Bradley, who took over last year from Hassan Shehata.
