FIFA awards: Messi does it again



Lionel Messi has been named FIFA Player of the Year 2012 for a fourth straight time, beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta.

The 25-year-old Argentine, who hit a staggering 91 goals in 2012, becomes the first-ever footballer to win the gong four times in a row.

Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque was voted Coach of the Year, while USA’s Amy Wambach snatched the Women's World Player of the Year award from Brazil’s Marta.

Slovakia and Fenerbahce winger Miroslav Stoch claimed the FIFA Puskas Award for best goal of the year, thanks to a breathtaking volley with his club.

The Uzbekistan Football Federation won the Fair Play award while FIFA’s Presidential award went to Germany and Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer.
