Egypt will be lifted by the return of some key players for next week’s high-profile friendly against Ivory Coast.
The Pharaohs were battered 3-0 by Ghana on Thursday while being forced to play the game without Ahli players and almost all foreign-based internationals.
Now seven members of the Ahli squad playing an exhibition match in Saudi Arabia against Hilal are expected to join the national team on Saturday.
The septet is led by star midfielder Mohamed Abou-Treika, in addition to Ahmed Fathi, Geddo, Abdullah Al-Saied, Ahmed Shedid, Hossam Ashour and Rami Rabiea.
Wael Gomaa and Al-Sayed Hamdi are already with the Egypt squad.
Egypt continue to prepare for their next competitive game against Zimbabwe in March while the Ivorians warm up for the Africa Cup of Nations this month.
