Al-Wasl surrendered their lead twice to draw 2-2 away from home with Ahli Dubai in the UAE league on Thursday.
The visitors took the lead on 39 minutes courtesy of a Mariano Donda strike as Brazil international Grafite equalized for Ahli nine minutes into the second half.
But Al-Wasl restored their lead when Uruguayan Emiliano Alfaro steered home a dubious penalty kick on the hour mark before Grafite notched his second of the night in the 90th minute to share honors.
Egypt midfielder Shikabala played the whole game and was involved in his side’s opener when his corner kick was cleared by a defender before Donda fired from the edge of the area.
Shika, on a year-loan from Zamalek, has been lively on the right flank as usual but was unable to help his side preserve their lead.
Al-Wasl are now third on five points from three league games while five-time champions Ahli are a point adrift in the fourth place.
