Bani Yas striker Mohamed Zidan has advised several Egyptian players to switch to the Emirate league, according to a local newspaper.
Zidan, who joined UAE side Bani Yas on a free transfer from Mainz in the close season, praised the Emirate league, citing the ‘tough competition’ at top of the table as a sign of improvement.
“It is true there are some Egyptian players who contacted me to enquire about the possibility of playing here,” Zidan was quoted by Emirate media
“I think it would be better for them to come to the UAE because of the easier lifestyle here. The UAE has developed a lot as a country.
“Also the Emirate league has become a strong league due to the tough competition between more than five teams for the summit.”
According to Emirate reports, some Egypt players including Ahli stars Ahmed Fathi and Hossam Ghaly had contacted agents during their camp in the Gulf nation last month to look for a club in the UAE.
