Egypt and Arab Contractors midfielder Mohamed Al-Nenni will join Basel on a one-week trial in January, according to the Cairo club.
After recently declaring they are ready to listen to offers for their star man, the crisis-hit Contractors have revealed that the 20-year-old is poised to join ex-club-mate Mohamed Salah at Basel.
“Basel asked to take Al-Nenni to spend one week with the club during the month of January, just like they did with Salah before signing him,” Contractors chairman Sherif Habib told FilGoal.com.
“I have an agreement with Basel sporting director Georg Heitz to send the player in early January and then we shall open talks.”
Contractors – renowned for having a decent youth system – have cashed in over €2million from the sale of Salah to the Swiss champions last summer.
The 20-year-old has been quiet an impressive signing for the club, who consider him a promising future prospect.
