Ahli star striker Geddo says he has decided to leave the African champions amid the sustained disruption of domestic football.
“I made my decision. If there is still no football, I will leave Ahli after the Club World Cup,” Geddo told FilGoal.com.
“I think leaving Egypt would be a logical decision. There is no football and thus there is no need to stay without playing.
“Surely I would prefer a move to Europe but I don’t mind playing for an Arab club.”
The Egyptian Premier League has been suspended since last February’s Port-Said disaster and a decision to call off the season seems to be on the cards, amid the ongoing political unrest in the country.
Ahli, who flied to Japan on Saturday to take part in the Club World Cup, will continue playing Champions League football next season as well.
The Reds won a seventh straight title this term, a triumph that Geddo played a vital role in achieving.
