Ahmed Hassan revealed that an all-star charity match featuring Mohamed Abou-Treika and a number of prominent Egypt stars will be held to aid the families of the Asyut disaster victims.
Egypt was rocked by the horrific death of plus-50 children in a bus crash in Asyut this month, with high-profile players like Hassan and Abou-Treika showing sympathy to the damaged families.
Hassan and Abou-Treika made separate visits to the upper-Egypt governorate as the former declared that they intend to do more for the sake of the families.
Maximum benefit
“I have an agreement with Abou-Treika to organize an exhibition game for the Asyut accident victims. The revenues of this match shall aid the families of the deceased,” Hassan told Zamalek’s website.
“We are looking forward to the ideal way of organizing such an event, so that the families can get the maximum benefit from it.
“During my visit I realized that the families have only made collective demands rather than asking for personal favors. It is amazing.
“For example, they wish to see a school built in the name of their kids. They do not want to be ignored by authorities.”
