Newly-hired Lierse coach Hany Ramzy plans to reinforce his squad with ‘quality players’ in the January transfer window as he begins his spell with the Belgian side.
The 43-year-old has been unveiled as Lierse manager this week, in a historic decision that made him the first-ever Egyptian to take charge of a top-flight European club.
“I noticed that we have a good fan base. We have supporters that really love the club and this is one thing you have to build on,” Ramzy told Lierse TV.
“But in the field we have some problems. We have some missing quality players in some positions.
“I will speak with the chairman as it is very important to transfer in some good players with quality.”
Ramzy makes his debut against Gent at the weekend, in an attempt to lift Lierse off the bottom three.
